"Government Contractors Require Strategies for Leasing Space, Managing Security"
Seyfarth Shaw attorney R.J. Hamilton wrote an article published in both, BNA Federal Contracts Report and BNA Real Estate Law and Industry Report on June 12. The article discusses some of the more important common lease provisions that require special attention during initial negotiations of a lease, and R.J. recommends that government contractors should keep these in mind in order to preserve exit strategies and manage the security needs of the contracting party. He states, "the article is intended to provide an overview of the types of issues that every government contractor should consider when entering into a lease."
R.J. touches upon lease term and early termination options, addressing a tenant's security needs, assignment and subletting, and security concerns in multi-tenant buildings.
