The lack of clarity surrounding compliance with the Form I-9 COVID-19 continues to frustrate HR leadership and legal departments across the country. Furthermore, it is still uncertain whether an extension of the temporary allowance for virtual I-9 completion will be granted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), as well as if they will be issuing clarifying guidance.

During our virtual ICEd Coffee session we will discuss these issues as well as the ever-changing legal and practical immigration compliance issues employers should be anticipating when: resuming business operations; bringing employees back to the workplace in Return to Business (RTB) phases; and when allowing new hires and existing employees to work remotely.

We will also unpack the use of electronic I-9 systems in the context of work-from-home scenarios and dive deeper into the “Authorized Representative” I-9 completion method.
