“CFPB Crackdown On Banks May Shake Up Auto Loan Market”

Seyfarth Shaw Consumer Financial Services Litigation partner Scott Pearson is quoted in a March 22 Law360 article discussing the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s plans to hold banks liable for funding auto dealers’ discriminatory loans. Scott points out that the measures taken by the CFPB and the DOL to determine who was unlawfully overcharged are “imprecise at best.” He adds, “The only way that you would be able to police this kind of stuff is to find out what people’s races are.”
