Securities & Financial Litigator William Pricket Quoted in Reuters
"Analysis: Madoff Trustee Takes on Banks as Deadline Looms"
Boston securities and financial litigator William Pricket was quoted in Reuters discussing Irving Picard, the court-appointed trustee tasked with recovering money from Bernard Madoff's epic fraud. According to the article, Picard has collected $2.6 billion in settlements and sales, just a fraction of the tens of billions of dollars lost in the biggest financial fraud in history. There has been a recent flurry of new cases against big banks, though, that could sweeten the recovery pot. Will, who has represented some wealthy individuals and nonprofit organizations in the Madoff matter, commented that "(Picard) has gone after the biggest fish he can find, and he has gone after a couple of smaller fish, but my sense is there are a couple of additional targets that he could have had with more years."
