About the Program
This program examines the rapidly evolving role of artificial intelligence (AI) across healthcare systems, hospitals, physician groups, and payers. As AI adoption accelerates, in-house counsel are increasingly tasked with balancing innovation with the need to manage complex regulatory, compliance, and litigation risks.
Bringing together a panel of experienced practitioners, this session offers practical, real-world insights into how organizations are navigating these challenges in today’s dynamic legal and regulatory environment.
Key topics will include:
- HIPAA considerations and the responsible use of AI tools
- Texas privacy law developments and emerging AI regulations
- Distinctions between clinical and operational AI applications
- Discovery issues related to AI-generated content
- Enforcement trends from the DOJ, OCR, and FTC
- Internal governance structures and AI approval processes
The program will highlight both Texas-specific developments—including heightened enforcement activity and evolving governance frameworks—and broader federal considerations such as HIPAA compliance, FTC oversight, and emerging litigation risks tied to AI use.
