June 17, 2026 – Seyfarth Shaw LLP has further boosted its highly regarded labor and employment team in Australia by bringing on Nicholas Turner as a partner based in the firm’s Sydney office.

Turner had been a partner in DLA Piper’s Global Employment Group where he served as Head of Employment in Australia, having built that practice from what was effectively a standing start in less than a decade. He previously was Head of Employment (London) at Sidley Austin and Head of Employment (Asia) at Linklaters.

Turner provides more than 20 years’ experience across Australia, Asia and Europe. He is a trusted adviser to boards, GC’s, CHRO’s and Employment Counsel on critical employment, industrial and strategic workforce matters. Turner draws on his vast international experience to provide a global perspective and advises multinational clients on complex, multi-jurisdictional issues including cross-border investigations and complaints and restraint of trade matters.

Turner advises clients on the full spectrum of employment and workplace issues, including senior executive matters, remuneration and incentive structures, and complex disputes. He combines deep technical knowledge and know-how with a practical, solutions-focused approach to help leading employers manage risk while achieving commercial outcomes.

“Nicholas, having worked in both Asia and Europe, brings significant Australian and international labor and employment law experience to our team,” said Darren Perry, chair of Seyfarth’s International Employment Law department, and managing partner of the firm’s Sydney and Melbourne offices. “Nicholas, with his extensive background, will fulfil a valuable role with his ability to further connect our Australia practice with the cross-border work done by our partners in the United States, London and Hong Kong.”

Turner offers widespread experience in workplace change, enterprise bargaining and industrial strategy, guiding organizations through complex and often high-pressure environments.

He regularly advises on cross-border employment matters, corporate transactions and large-scale workforce transformations, including employee transfers and outsourcing arrangements.

“Nicholas is a strong addition to our team who further enhances our market-leading reputation in Australia,” said Daniel Waldman, vice chair of Seyfarth’s International Employment department. “It is so valuable to have such an experienced lawyer in Sydney, with his being UK-qualified and having spent meaningful time in Hong Kong, who can also operate cross-border and create stronger connections back to our other offices.”

Turner works with clients across a broad range of industries and sectors and has a particular focus on technology, financial services, pharmaceuticals and life sciences and retail.

“Seyfarth presents a compelling opportunity to me as both a lawyer and business generator,” said Turner. “I am truly energized and excited by the prospect of focusing on client work with the outstanding team of lawyers at Seyfarth, both in Australia and internationally. Seyfarth’s strong and stable brand platform will enable me to advance my practice to the next level.”

Turner earned his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of New South Wales and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from Middlesex University. Turner is admitted to practice in Australia. He is also a Solicitor of England and Wales.
