NEW YORK (October 24, 2011) — Seyfarth Shaw LLP New York office Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation department partner Howard Pianko was recently selected by Practical Law Company (PLC), an online company that provides practical, legal information to law firms, law departments and law schools, to join its Advisory Board. The Board comprises an esteemed panel of skilled attorneys specializing in employee benefits and executive compensation law.

The new Board members will be tasked with helping shape PLC's newly-launched online service for law firms, "PLCEmployee Benefits & Executive Compensation" (PLCEBEC), created to directly address attorney needs in meeting client demands for increased efficiency and greater value.

Pianko advises a wide range of clients on benefit plan design and compliance, executive compensation, pension investment, plan governance, fiduciary responsibility and litigation involving fiduciary and other claims under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA). His focus with PLC is on the fiduciary and plan governance provisions of ERISA and on executive compensation. His PLC contributions have ranged from general descriptions of ERISA's fiduciary provisions and of Section 409A of the Internal Revenue Code, to more specific materials such as forms of committee charters. He published his first article with PLC in the early 1990's on the benefits aspects of cross border joint ventures.
