Seyfarth announced today that, for the 13th consecutive year, the firm earned a perfect score of 100 in the annual Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index (CEI) and was named a “Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality.” The CEI is the nation’s premier benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ workplace equality.

“We are always honored and humbled to receive this important recognition. Following a year of many challenges, we are proud the firm has demonstrated its steadfast commitment to the inclusive practices that truly make Seyfarth special,” said Pete Miller, Seyfarth’s chair and managing partner.

“We consider equity a crucial component in achieving our inclusion, diversity, and belonging goals. While we remain determined to keep progressing as a firm, the 100% score from HRC is an encouraging endorsement of our strong vision for workplace equity and equality,” said Kori Carew, Seyfarth’s chief inclusion & diversity officer.

“The CEI is a prominent marker for any organization measuring progress in LGBTQ equality. Our perfect score is a reflection of Seyfarth’s foundational values and our leadership’s ability to create meaningful workplace policies,” said Sam Schwartz-Fenwick, leader of Seyfarth’s LGBT affinity group.

The 2021 CEI evaluates LGBTQ-related policies and practices including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBTQ community. Seyfarth’s efforts in satisfying all of the CEI’s criteria results in a 100 percent ranking and the designation as a “Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality.”

The Human Rights Campaign Foundation (HRC) is the educational arm of America's largest civil rights organization working to achieve equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people. HRC envisions a world where LGBTQ people are embraced as full members of society at home, at work and in every community. For more information on the 2021 Corporate Equality Index, visit here.
