Seyfarth Shaw Adds Value to Bankruptcy Group with Addition of David C. Christian in Chicago
Chicago (June 28, 2006) - - Seyfarth Shaw LLP, one of America’s leading full service law firms, announced that David C. Christian II has joined the firm as partner in its bankruptcy group; he is based in the Chicago office. Prior to joining Seyfarth Shaw, Christian was partner in the Chicago office of McDermott Will & Emery LLP.
Christian’s practice focuses on corporate bankruptcy, workouts, and distressed transactions around the United States. He assists clients in buying or selling distressed assets and regularly counsels clients on reorganization and commercial law issues, both inside and outside bankruptcy. David has also developed particular expertise counseling clients on the intersection of difficult insurance and bankruptcy issues. This experience has led to substantial work on resolving mass tort issues through bankruptcy, including in some of the largest bankruptcy cases in the nation's history.
“David has extensive experience counseling clients through troubled bankruptcy transactions involving complex issues,” noted Gus A. Paloian, head of the firm’s bankruptcy group. "He is skilled attorney who will be an asset to Seyfarth Shaw and our clients; we are pleased to welcome him into the partnership.”
Seyfarth Shaw’s bankruptcy attorneys represent publicly traded and privately held organizations and individuals in the United States and abroad, in large-scale, complex restructurings involving multiple business operations, as well as smaller, discrete enforcement actions, workouts and bankruptcies. The firm’s attorneys provide sophisticated, creative and time-sensitive solutions that draw upon their in-depth knowledge of bankruptcy and creditors’ rights law, and broad industry experience. This knowledge and experience enables Seyfarth Shaw to implement strategies that minimize delays and costs and maximize the opportunities for resolution and continued viability; often exploring alternative remedies that meet the needs of our clients while satisfying the demands of the courts and parties on the opposing side of the negotiating table.
“I’m delighted to be a member of Seyfarth Shaw’s respected bankruptcy group,” stated Christian. “I look forward to contributing and raising the value of the services we offer our important clients.”
Christian received his B.S. from Rockhurst College and earned his J.D. from the College of William and Mary School of Law. He is a published author and is admitted to practice law in IL, MO and KS in addition to numerous federal bankruptcy, district and appellate courts.
