Seyfarth Shaw's downtown Los Angeles office was featured in the Los Angeles Business Journal on April 18, and one of the office's managing partners, Ray Kepner, was pictured and heavily quoted. The article discussed the allure of opening an office in downtown Los Angeles when the firm already has a thriving practice in Century City.

According to Ray, "We found that as we had conversations to attract corporate and real estate lawyers, they were downtown more often than not."

An office located in downtown was a major draw for some attorneys, as the opportunity to avoid the city's notorious traffic congestion coupled with the booming development in cultural and entertainment venues—Ray called it "a renewed vibrancy to the downtown business community"—provided a more attractive place to work and live. Employees now had the option to take mass transit to and from work, and for visiting Seyfarth litigators, including those from the Century City office, the downtown location was an ideal "base camp," given its proximity to the courthouses in the downtown vicinity.

Ray concluded by stating, "Overall, we've been very pleased with our decision to open a downtown office," and despite the fact that other law firms have consolidated their offices, Seyfarth "has no intention of closing its Century City office, which has grown in recent years to 90 lawyers."
