NEW YORK (February 27, 2024) — Seyfarth reaffirms its steadfast dedication to diversity, equity and inclusion with the appointment of Mira Dewji as Chief Inclusion & Diversity Officer. Dewji joins the firm as it looks to build on its culture of inclusion and belonging across a global workforce and accelerate strategies that enable, empower, and drive high performance. Dewji will be based in New York and report to the firm’s Chair and Managing Partner Lorie Almon.

“Mira brings a data-driven and collaborative approach to executing inclusion, equity, and belonging (IEB) initiatives. Her expertise will be crucial as we continue to strengthen our IEB capabilities and accelerate our existing portfolio of award-winning programs,” said Almon. “Mira also has a proven track record in client relationship-building, which aligns deeply with Seyfarth’s client-service focus. We’re excited to have her on board.”

Tamaron Houston, co-chair of Seyfarth’s global Diversity & Inclusion Action Team adds: “Mira is a great addition to Seyfarth, which has always put our people first. She understands that fostering inclusion, equity, and belonging is a long-term commitment. I look forward to working with Mira as Seyfarth continues to grow and strengthen our inclusive culture.”

Dewji will be principal leader of Seyfarth’s IEB strategic plan. She will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, including the Executive Committee and global Diversity & Inclusion Action Team, to ensure integration with the firm’s Business Resource Groups—and other inclusion and diversity groups firmwide—to advance practices and policies that foster a culture of belonging.

“During a time when diversity efforts are facing unwarranted backlash, I am grateful for the opportunity to work at a firm that leads the industry by embedding IEB approaches into every aspect of its operations,” Dewji said. “The business and moral imperatives of creating a more inclusive legal industry are compelling. I’ve dedicated my career to showcasing the strides that can be made when diversity professionals are included in decision-making from start to finish.”

Dewji brings more than a decade of experience to the role, having begun her career as a transactional attorney and resource group leader at Latham & Watkins LLP. She was the first director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at Fenwick & West LLP and prior to that, the assistant director of Diversity & Inclusion at Mayer Brown LLP. Dewji has been teaching cutting-edge courses on corporate culture and ethical leadership at New York University since 2016.

“Recognizing that structural barriers have prevented equitable access to opportunities within our industry, I am committed to ensuring that everyone at Seyfarth is valued as an integral participant in the life and business of the firm, feels empowered in their career and can show up authentically to perform at their very best,” Dewji said.
