Seyfarth Shaw’s Mary Kay Klimesh Appointed Chair of ABA Section of State and Local Government Law

CHICAGO (August 7, 2012) - Seyfarth Shaw LLP announced today that Chicago office partner and Labor & Employment attorney Mary Kay Klimesh has been appointed chair of the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Section of State and Local Government Law. Selected by the Section’s Council, Klimesh’s one-year appointment began on Sunday, August 5. She previously served as Chair-Elect of the Section.
“I am very honored and excited for my new role in the organization,” remarked Klimesh. “The energy, talents, interests, skills and knowledge of our membership contributes greatly to the wonderful programming, publication and services offered by the Section. I look forward to partnering with this talented and knowledgeable group of attorneys to enhance its legacy of education, collaboration and collegiality.”
In her role, Klimesh will work with members to drive the Section’s initiative for the upcoming year, while also furthering the focus on providing high quality CLE programming, publications and other member services. She will also continue ongoing efforts of the Section’s leadership to expand membership, strengthen their commitment to diversity and provide activities inclusive to attorneys who share the Section’s interests and purposes. Klimesh also plans to initiate an organized level of support to facilitate member service through pro bono and public service activities.
