Seyfarth Shaw's New York Office Continues Expansion with Addition of Marvin J. Miller Jr. as Partner in Corporate and Finance Practice Group
New York, NY (May 8, 2007) - - Seyfarth Shaw LLP, one of America’s leading full service law firms, announced that Marvin J. Miller Jr. has joined the firm as partner in the Corporate and Finance Practice Group in New York. Miller is joined by associate Darwin L. Conner. Prior to joining Seyfarth Shaw, Miller was a partner and Conner was an associate in the New York office of Winston & Strawn LLP.
Miller’s primary practice is concentrated in complex financing matters. He has substantial experience representing domestic and international corporate and financial institutions in connection with a range of financing transactions, including second lien financings, asset-backed, foreign and domestic tender offers (hostile and friendly), structured acquisition financings (including corporate strategic acquisitions and leveraged buyouts involving subordinate debt and financier equity positions), debtor-in-possession, sale-leasebacks, debt restructurings, synthetic leases, and commercial paper back-up facilities. In particular, Miller has handled financings involving aircraft, motion picture studios, media properties, insurance companies, manufacturers, hotels, medical service providers, food companies, gaming companies, ships, mineral properties, and racehorses. Conner represents banks and other financial institutions in secured and unsecured lending transactions.

Seyfarth Shaw’s Finance and Lending Practice Group attorneys work with both lenders and borrowers in structuring, negotiating and documenting finance transactions of all sizes and types including: secured loans, syndicated loan transactions, real estate financings, construction loans, specialty loans ranging from dealership finance to fleet vessel construction, equity finance transactions, tax-exempt financing and financing with government incentives. Miller received a B.A. in Political Science from DePaul University and earned his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law, where he was articles editor of the Fordham International Law Review. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. Conner received his B.A. from Carleton College and earned his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law.
