Seyfarth Shaw Welcomes Ilan N. Barzilay to the Intellectual Property Practice Group in Boston Office
Boston, MA (January 12, 2010)—Seyfarth Shaw LLP, one of America’s leading full-service law firms, today announced that Ilan N. Barzilay has joined the firm’s Boston office as a partner in the Intellectual Property Practice Group. He was previously at Wolf, Greenfield & Sacks, P.C.
Barzilay practices in all areas of intellectual property law with a focus on litigation of patent and other IP rights. He also counsels clients on a variety of matters, including: patent and trademark prosecution, portfolio development, opinions, and licensing. Barzilay’s experience covers a wide variety of technologies from microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), database management, and financial services software, to flexible sprinklers and medical devices, to equestrian hoof-pads and consumer products. He has represented clients of various sizes, from established corporations to research institutions to emerging companies. He has successfully litigated against both the largest hospital company in the world and the largest furniture company in the world.

The Boston office was opened in 1999 with two partners and five associates. Since then, the office has experienced substantial growth, and with nearly 100 attorneys it is now one of the firm’s largest offices. Barzilay earned his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University and his J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center. He is admitted to the Massachusetts and New York state bars, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the U.S. Supreme Court, and various U.S. District Courts.
