Seyfarth’s Ellen McLaughlin Received the 2022 Coalition of Women's Initiatives in Law’s Inspiration Award

Seyfarth’s Ellen McLaughlin received the 2022 Coalition of Women's Initiatives in Law’s Inspiration Award. The Inspiration Award is given to a female attorney who serves as an inspiration to other female attorneys and meets the following criteria:

• Demonstrates an excellence in lawyering and achievement in the nominee's legal practice
• Believes in and understands the importance and value of gender parity in the legal profession and consistently advocates for this belief
• Acknowledges and encourages the full talents, capabilities, skills, and rights of women in the profession
• Encourages women in the profession to accept opportunities and challenges and to expand their circle of influence

McLaughlin’s leadership and guidance have helped Seyfarth gain repeated recognition for workplace diversity and flexibility, and for advancing women lawyers. She extends that support to women clients, helping them navigate career transitions and gain clarity of their goals and aspirations. McLaughlin has held many leadership roles at Seyfarth, including former national chair of the Labor and Employment Practice Group and 15 years as a member of the firm’s Administrative Committee. She is currently national chair of Seyfarth’s Women’s Network (SWN), a group she helped launch to focus on the retention and promotion of women. The Coalition of Women's Initiatives in Law is a non-profit membership association that brings together law firms, government entities, and companies of all sizes. The Coalition was founded in Chicago in 2008 by a group of women lawyers intent on joining forces with others to benefit the collective whole.
