Seyfarth’s Middle Market M&A Survey Prominently Featured in Law360

Law360 published a major article, Seyfarth Eyes Middle-Market Bounce As Megadeals Dominate, solely focused on Seyfarth’s 2025 Middle Market M&A SurveyBook.

Andrew Lucano, Seyfarth’s national Corporate Department chair and co-chair of the firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions practice was quoted prominently in the piece, along with Aaron Gillett, vice-chair of Seyfarth’s M&A practice.

Law360 reported, from the survey that “the middle-market door has yet to fully swing open for a true mergers and acquisitions revival.”

Andrew Lucano told Law360: "It's a good feeling to see that the big players are out there putting their money to work. But when you peel back the onion, there's no denying that the volume of transactions in the middle market is way down." He added: "I wouldn't say deals are dying. ... They're just a little bit on pause, or moving more slowly than they would have certainly back in 2021.”

Aaron Gillett: "Sellers aren't going to reset their expectations and say, 'Well, since it's costing you more to borrow to buy my company, I'll lower my price,'” further stating that “there is a bit of reality setting in for buyers that interest rates are what they are."
