Adds Social Media Review for H-1B, H-4 Visa Applicants,” which details new requirements for visa applicants and the potential impact on processing timelines. Starting December 15, 2025, H-1B and H-4 visa applicants will undergo an “online presence review,” requiring public access to their social media accounts. 

Batista commented on the implications of the State Department’s expanded vetting process, noting:

“Appointment availability may become more limited due to the additional vetting consular officers must perform under the online‑presence review. The expanded vetting standards also mean applicants may face a higher likelihood of lengthy background checks and longer waits for visa issuance. In anticipation of possible delays, travel itineraries should be flexible and with plenty of buffer room.”
