Stanley Jutkowitz, Suzanne Saxman, and John Shire to Present RMA Webinar "The CARES Act, Cannabis and Banking: Hot Topics"

Stanley Jutkowitz, senior counsel in Seyfarth's Corporate department, Suzanne Saxman, partner in Seyfarth's Corporate department and chair of the Mergers & Acquisitions practice group, and John Shire, partner in Seyfarth's Corporate department, will present the RMA webinar "The CARES Act, Cannabis and Banking: Hot Topics" on May 15, 2020. Stanley also leads the firm’s Cannabis Law practice, and serves as editor of the firm's blog, The Blunt Truth, which addresses the legal and practical implications of cannabis laws across the U.S. and their impacts on the business community.

The CARES Act has created a number of new lending programs including the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) and the Main Street Lending Program. Interim Regulations, Model Term Sheets and FAQs have been issued at a dizzying pace leaving many questions unanswered. While “plant touching” marijuana related businesses have been excluded from these programs, questions remain as to whether “non-plant touching” businesses serving the marijuana industry can access programs under the CARES Act. This webinar will cover hot topics and unanswered questions related to these issues and of particular interest to the banking industry.
