Steven Kennedy and Eric Barton Quoted in Fulton County Daily Report
"Commercial Real Estate: The Race for Space"
Steven Kennedy and Eric Barton are quoted in the June 14, 2010 Fulton County Daily Report article, "Commercial Real Estate: The Race for Space." The article discussed the increase in demand for commercial real estate space in Atlanta, highlighting Seyfarth's new Atlanta office.
The article noted that Seyfarth was the first property tenant at 1075 Peachtree St. office tower, also known as 12th & Midtown. According to the article, in late 2007, the firm began considering property in Buckhead and Downtown. There was a strong preference for staying in Midtown, but employees wanted to move closer to the area's core retail district. Eric explained, "The comments people had were, 'We like Midtown, but we prefer more lunch options, things out our front door.'" The new space at 12th & Midtown accomplished this goal.
According to the article, the firm grew last year due to a few key lateral hires, making its former space tight. Redesigning the former space would not have given the firm the design flexibility it sought, Steve noted. He added that selecting a building and designing an interior space that met the high national Leadership in Energy and Design (LEED) standards was very important and had the added benefit of improving the health and welfare of the Atlanta office's employees.
