Structured and Real Estate Finance Practice Group (SREF) Featured in Real Estate Finance & Investment "Seyfarth Shaw Targets Lenders, Workouts"

SREF Co-Chairs Peter Korda and Andrew Pearlstein were quoted in the article, “Seyfarth Shaw Targets Lenders, Workouts,” published in the March 17, 2008 issue of Real Estate Finance & Investment. Peter noted that senior lenders are looking to have more clout in inter-creditor agreements on newly originated loans in the event of defaults. He and Andrew also observed that Wall Street lenders are hesitant to underwrite deals, while life insurance companies have taken up some of the slack. Andrew noted, “They’re seeing a greater variety [of deals] and they have a chance to pick and choose.” He further noted, “A lot of people are forming funds but haven’t pulled the trigger yet,” resulting in large amounts of capital piling up.
