Seyfarth’s Tracee Davis authored an article, “Technology-Related Commercial Disputes Should Be Assigned to the Commercial Division,” in the New York Law Journal on January 5. Davis discussed the Office of Court Administration’s proposal to add a reference to technology in the description of what is a commercial case and the cases that likely fall within the Commercial Division’s jurisdiction.

“The proposed amendment to Rule 202.70(b)(1) to add an explicit reference to technology-related commercial disputes is not only aligned with the type of matters the Commercial Division is already handling, it would highlight New York’s world-class business court and commercial laws and how they are equipped to handle the technology market’s ever-changing legal needs.”
