Valerie Hoffman is quoted in the Society for Human Resource Management's (SHRM) 2009 Human Resource (HR) Trend Book in the article, "Thwarting Lawsuits—One Fingerprint at a Time," which appears in the HR Technology chapter. The article discusses the increased usage of biometric identifiers and notes that many employers want biometrics to track employee movements and curtail fraud. Valerie notes that “[t]his creates even more liability for employers as they are likely to receive more complaints and each complaint must be promptly investigated and resolved.”
