Whitney Schmidt to Speak at ACG Chicago Sunset Session Panel, "The State of M&A: Mid-Year Market Update & Dealermaker Perspectives"

Whitney Schmidt, partner in Seyfarth's Corporate department and co-chair of the firm’s Commercial Finance practice group,  will serve as a panelist at the ACG Chicago Sunset Session, "The State of M&A: Mid-Year Market Update & Dealermaker Perspectives," on July 9. 

Over the past two years, dealmakers have faced an increasingly unpredictable environment shaped by tariffs, interest rate volatility, geopolitical conflict, energy market disruption, and shifting buyer and lender sentiment. While transactions are still getting done, uncertainty has impacted nearly every stage of the M&A process—from origination and diligence to financing and closing. Following the panel discussion, economist Jason Turner, Chief Investment Strategist of Great Lakes Advisors, will provide a mid-year economic update, offering insight into the broader economic trends and market forces expected to shape the M&A environment for the remainder of the year.
