Caroline partners with both private sector and governmental employers to design and implement compliant, strategic retirement and health benefit programs. She provides practical guidance on day-to-day plan administration and fiduciary obligations, helping clients navigate complex regulatory requirements with confidence.
Known for her deep understanding of compliance frameworks, Caroline routinely resolves operational failures through the IRS Employee Plans Compliance Resolution System (EPCRS), helping clients proactively mitigate risk. She plays a key role in corporate transactions, conducting thorough due diligence on benefit and compensation arrangements, identifying potential liabilities, and negotiating benefit-related provisions in deal documents.
Earlier in her career, Caroline practiced employee benefits and executive compensation law at an AmLaw 200 firm. She also served as associate general counsel for the Georgia Municipal Association, Inc., where she provided legal counsel for all aspects relating to the defined benefit, deferred compensation, and defined contribution plans administered by the organization. Having worked as in-house counsel for a nonprofit organization in achieving its corporate goals while mitigating risk, her range of experience makes her uniquely equipped to address her clients’ needs and identify practical solutions.
