Whether it be a small business or a large, multinational corporation, many employers deal with issues related to discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, and a myriad of other employment law issues. Katie is an experienced litigator and a fierce legal advocate should her clients be drawn into single-plaintiff and complex employment litigation. Further, Katie’s professional and approachable method of counseling allows employers to mitigate risk in a way that is easy to understand and will have a lasting impact on their businesses.

Katie’s experience as an employment law litigator ranges from client counseling and early resolution, to mediation and complex negotiations, and all the way through discovery and ultimately–trial and arbitration. Katie provides guidance to employers on a variety of topics including Title VII and Washington State discrimination claims, Federal Medical Leave Act and Washington State Paid Family Medical Leave claims, claims arising from the Americans with Disabilities Act, Equal Pay and Opportunities Act, pregnancy discrimination, wrongful termination, retaliation, alternative dispute resolution, employment misclassification, and contractual disputes related to employment.

For years, Katie has assisted and advocated for clients on both sides of the aisle when it comes to employment litigation and counseling. Katie’s experience advocating for both plaintiffs and defendants gives her a unique advantage in helping her clients come to a favorable resolution. Further, Katie’s experience studying conflict resolution and international corporate human rights has given her effective tools when it comes to investigations, negotiations, counseling, and advocacy. Katie’s style of representation is approachable, nuanced, and provides clients with useful insight and support for any of their employment law matters.
