Mike has decades of experience advising banks, originators, borrowers, asset-backed commercial paper (ABCP) conduits, fintechs, hedge funds, and others on a broad variety of US and international structured finance, derivatives, structured products, lending, and securities transactions. He also regularly advises major financial institutions and other clients on securities, commodities, commercial, banking, and finance laws.

In the area of securitization and asset financing, Mike’s experience encompasses the full range of traditional and esoteric assets, including autos, mortgages, trade credit, whole business, insurance premium finance, life settlements, lottery receivables, motion pictures, royalties, litigation funding, capital commitments, merchant cash advances, solar panels, manufactured housing, marketplace lending, CLOs, and middle-market loans.

Mike has also structured and documented a variety of bespoke derivatives and structured products linked to credit, commodities, currencies, rates, ABS, mortgages, weather, and longevity, as well as repos, securities loans, participations, and similar products. On the regulatory side, Mike has helped clients navigate the Dodd-Frank Act, US and EU risk retention requirements, the Volcker Rule, the Uniform Commercial Code, capital and liquidity requirements, swaps, commodity pools, and consumer finance regulation.
