More About Ryan
Ryan focuses his practice on employee benefits and health care‑related litigation, with a particular emphasis on disputes involving ERISA‑governed benefit plans and employers. He advises employers, plan administrators, and fiduciaries on the complex and evolving regulatory landscape governing compensation and benefits, including fiduciary obligations, plan administration, and compliance.
Ryan has substantial experience navigating health care disputes arising under ERISA, including challenges to benefit determinations, reimbursement disputes, and claims involving medical necessity and provider billing practices. He represents clients in federal and state courts on a first‑chair basis and has represented both plan participants and health care providers.
Ryan’s broader litigation background includes representing public entities and businesses in catastrophic personal injury cases, as well as real estate and commercial disputes. He has extensive experience taking and defending depositions of both fact and expert witnesses and has served as lead counsel across multiple phases of litigation, including trial, and has handled matters before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
