With all the hardships of the last year, it’s horrifying to see targeted acts of violence against people of Asian descent continue to rise. The tragic mass shooting in Atlanta this week is part of an ongoing pattern that has only escalated since the start of the pandemic.
As a firm committed to inclusion and belonging, we must acknowledge what is happening, reaffirm our beliefs, and take a strong stand against violence and hatred.
It is also important to acknowledge that these events create trauma and fear for our Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander colleagues and their loved ones. Let’s all stand together and embrace those who are affected by racism and violence, and continue the culture of empathy we have been cultivating since the start of the pandemic.
