Seyfarth Represents Dispatch Printing in its Publications Sale to New Media

CHICAGO (June 3, 2015) – Seyfarth Shaw LLP advised The Dispatch Printing Company, an integrated media company, on its agreement to sell all of its print publications to New Media Investment Group Inc., one of the largest publishers of locally based print and online media in the United States as measured by number of daily publications.
 
The transaction includes the sale of The Columbus Dispatch, a daily newspaper that has served Ohio since 1871, and other print publications including Columbus Monthly, Crave, Capital Style, Columbus CEO and ThisWeek Community Newspapers.
 
The Dispatch Printing Company is a leading regional media company anchored by its flagship newspaper The Columbus Dispatch. It also owns a portfolio of community papers through subsidiary ThisWeek Community Newspapers and publishes a group of central Ohio magazines, including Columbus Monthly and Crave. The company owns and operates WBNS-TV in Columbus and WTHR-TV in Indianapolis. The company also has real estate holdings in central Ohio and elsewhere and owns a stake in The Columbus Blue Jackets, an NHL hockey team.
