In his practice, Gregg has represented owners, general contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and building material manufacturers. This has given him a broad perspective on all aspects of the construction industry.
Gregg has extensive experience drafting construction and design contract documents, counseling clients during the course of construction projects to minimize risks and achieve optimal results, and advocating for clients in mediation, arbitration, and litigation. He has successfully represented construction clients in numerous mediations, arbitrations, and jury trials.
Over the years, Gregg has worked on a wide variety of exciting construction projects, including power plants in Canada and Asia, housing developments in Africa and Guam, a Major League Baseball stadium in Milwaukee, wind farms in the Mojave Desert, and high-rises in Las Vegas, Chicago, and San Francisco.

Defeated the bulk of the subcontractor’s claim through a summary procedure, and then resolved the balance in mediation on terms very favorable to the construction manager.
- Drafted numerous development management agreements (and related construction and development documents) for real estate clients on projects throughout the US.
- Defended international design firm against general contractor’s $30 million claim for cost overruns resulting from the allegedly defective design of a hospital expansion project. Resolved the claim in mediation on terms extremely favorable to the designer.
- Prosecuted general contractor’s multimillion-dollar claim against an owner for defective design and excessive changes in connection with the construction of a $20 million residence. Defended against the owner’s delay claim. Following 51 days of arbitration, an arbitration panel awarded the contractor over 95% of its claimed damages and legal fees and denied the owner’s claim in its entirety.
- Assisted OCIP carrier in analyzing claims and assessing insurance coverage in connection with the construction of what was then the largest commercial construction project in US history.
- Prosecuted designer’s breach of contract and fraud claims against a private developer in connection with two turn-key construction projects for a municipality. Obtained trial court award in favor of designer, which was upheld on appeal.
- Assisted international pharmaceutical company in developing a complete set of design and construction contract document templates.
- Prosecuted EPC contractor’s multimillion dollar delay and disruption claims against a public agency arising out of the rehabilitation of a geothermal power plant. Resolved the claims in mediation on terms very favorable to the contractor.
- Assisted wind turbine manufacturer to develop litigation strategy and achieve early resolution of various design defect and warranty claims.
- Defended solar energy developer against claims by an EPC contractor arising out of the design and construction of a solar farm. Resolved the claims in an early mediation on terms very favorable to the developer.
- Represented technology company in a series of arbitrations against a developer regarding the lease terms for a corporate campus complex in the Silicon Valley.
- Defended an international building materials manufacturer in multiple product liability and breach of warranty cases throughout California. Obtained defense verdicts in several of these cases. The San Francisco Daily Journal listed one of these defense verdicts as a “Top Ten Defense Verdict of the Year” in California.
