In the last three years, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has audited more than 6,000 employers and imposed more than $76 million in financial sanctions. Last year alone, ICE issued almost 3,000 notices of inspection, a 375% increase since 2008. In addition, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and the Department of Labor (DOL) now regularly make unannounced visits at worksites of visa sponsoring employers. As a result of the increased government scrutiny, employers can no longer afford to have a weak or nonexistent compliance program.
We invite you to join us for a discussion of the latest government enforcement efforts relating to legal work status, I-9s, and E-Verify, with a focus on the industries particularly at risk. In addition, we will discuss recent rulemakings and agency actions impacting temporary worker visa programs such as H-1B, L-1, and H-2B. Finally, we will address the latest legislative and policy efforts to reform immigration programs and expand E-Verify to all U.S. employers.
