On March 29, 2019, the Massachusetts Department of Family And Medical Leave is planning to release its next iteration of the proposed Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) regulations.  The proposed regulations are expected to incorporate many of the comments and feedback received by the Department through public listening sessions and written submissions since the January 23, 2019 release of an early draft of the regulations.

Please join Seyfarth Shaw’s Boston team for an informative webinar providing a comprehensive breakdown of the proposed regulations, highlights of the changes since the January draft of the regulations, and a discussion on how employers can prepare for the July 1, 2019 implementation of the PFML Law and related payroll deductions.  This session will provide detailed insight on the key features and what they mean for your company and employees.

Topics to be covered:

  • July 1, 2019 Payroll Tax
  • Process for Remitting Contributions to the PFML Trust Fund
  • Application for Private Plan Exemption
  • Benefits Claim Process
  • How PFML Benefits Will Interact With Short-Term Disability & Other Benefits
  • An Extended Q&A Session
