The results of the 2019 Legislative Session are in. Governor Newsom has approved some of the bills most feared by employers, some of which were vetoed by his predecessor. Quite a few significant new employment laws will take effect January 1, 2020, posing new interpretation and compliance challenges for employers. Join members of our California Labor & Employment Legislative and Workplace Solutions Groups on November 6 for a discussion of how these new laws will affect employers doing business in California, and practical suggestions for ensuring your business is prepared for 2020.

Topics will include:

  • Restrictions on employment arbitration agreements (so much for last year’s veto of AB 3080)
  • No-no-no to no-rehire provisions in settlement agreements
  • The infamous AB5, codifying the Dynamex ABC test
  • Revised lactation location requirements
  • Extension of the time to exhaust administrative deadlines under FEHA
  • And much much more…
