"The Ninth Circuit Changes Its Mind, Holding That Commute Time May Be Compensable Under California Law"
West Coast attorneys Alfred Sanderson and Aaron Lubeley published the article, "The Ninth Circuit Changes Its Mind, Holding That Commute Time May Be Compensable Under California Law," in the Fall 2010 issue of Employee Relations Law Journal. The article discusses how the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals recently reversed its prior ruling on the issue of whether an employee's time spent commuting to and from work is compensable—holding that under California law an employer must compensate its employees for time spent commuting when the employee is driving a company-provided vehicle with restricted use. Fred and Aaron also discuss the decision's implications for employers.
