Camille Olson Discusses DOL Easing Rules on Independent Contractor Status in SHRM

SHRM quoted Camille Olson in its article, “DOL Gives Extra Leeway for Independent Contractor Classification,” on May 9. Olson discussed how the US Department of Labor (DOL) will not enforce the narrower 2024 independent contractor rule under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), making it easier for employers to classify workers as independent contractors, even though the rule still applies in private litigation.
