Camille Olson Quoted in Human Resource Executive
“Examining Employment Law”
It's October, which means it's time for the U.S. Supreme Court to begin its annual session. On the docket this year are 10 cases related to employment law, including some that could have significant new impacts on businesses. In a recent article, Human Resource Executive asked Camille Olson, a member of Seyfarth Shaw’s Labor and Employment steering committee, for her thoughts on which cases could have the greatest impact.
Two of the cases singled out deal with employer retaliation—Kasten vs. Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics and Thompson vs. North American Stainless. According to Camille, the third case—Dukes vs. Wal-Mart, the largest class-action in U.S. history with 1.5 million plaintiffs—could change the way employers manage their compensation and promotion policies.
