The article discussed a Seyfarth Shaw victory led by Labor & Employment partner Camille Olson, regarding a $95M civil assault verdict against a former Aaron's Rents Inc. store manager who was recently acquitted in the related criminal case against him.

"I think you'd have to question the verdict in the civil case or whether there were errors either in the instructions given to the jury or their fact finding in terms of the award that they issued," said Camille.

Camille remarked that it was unusual that a jury would award such a large amount in damages when the criminal case would end in a not guilty verdict. The judge reduced the award by more than half to $41.3 million.
