“High Court May Overhaul Class Standards In Wal-Mart”
Chicago employment attorney Camille Olson was quoted December 6 in articles that ran in Law360 and SHRM Online about how the U.S. Supreme Court agreed to decide whether Wal-Mart Stores Inc. might face what could be the largest workplace class action suit ever certified in Dukes v. Wal-Mart.
Camille explained to Law360 that, “the question of whether or a not a class of this size in this many locations based on the facts and legal theories provided to the court should have been certified is an important issue and is something they should be looking at.”
Camille commented to SHRM Online that, “this is an important decision, which will provide clarity to human resource representatives” with respect to various issues, including clarifying the standard for certification of employment class actions.
