"Business Groups Pleased with Law Broadening ADA"

Camille Olson was quoted in the September 29, 2008 the Washington Business Journal article, "Business Groups Pleased with Law Broadening ADA." The article reported on the business community's reaction to the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Amendments Act (ADA Amendments Act).  According to the article, business groups worked with disability rights groups to craft a bill that broadened ADA coverage while providing employers with clear guidance. Camille is cited as cautioning employers that "the rules they have learned and adopted concerning disability accommodation requests no longer apply." Additionally, she is quoted as saying that "employers need to immediately look at their existing policies, handbooks, procedures and job descriptions to determine whether they may now be at risk for a lawsuit under the ADA Amendments Act."
