Dawn Lurie Discusses DHS Updating E-Verify Process in SHRM

SHRM quoted Dawn Lurie in its article, “DHS Issues Reverification Guidance After Revoking EADs,” on July 1. Lurie discussed the US Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) June 20 announcement that employers should use E-Verify status change reports—rather than case alerts—to identify workers whose employment authorization documents (EADs) have been revoked.

“Many employers hired these individuals in good faith, and now the responsibility to address this shift falls squarely on employers, particularly those enrolled in E-Verify.”
