Self-evaluations play an important role in performance management. So how do you use your self-evaluation to position yourself well during evaluations and for future success? What don’ts should you avoid? If your organization does not use self-evaluations, doing your own self-evaluation for yourself in preparation for your employer’s process is  still instrumental in helping you evaluate your progress and best next steps as well as equipping others to help you advocate for yourself.  Join this experienced panel of evaluators and leaders to learn best practices on completing a self-evaluation and navigating the process as a diverse attorney.

Moderator

Alexia Noble, Associate, Seyfarth

Alexia advises clients as they navigate the requirements of ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, COBRA and the Affordable Care Act. She advises clients on a variety of matters relating to employee benefit plans, including design, administration, compliance and corrections. She also provides guidance regarding employee benefit plans in corporate transactions. Alexia has experience counseling private, public and nonprofit employers.

Tracy Billows, Partner, Seyfarth

Tracy is chair of the Chicago office Labor & Employment department, concentrating her practice on representing and counseling employers throughout the country in the entire range of employment law matters. Tracy provides extensive advice and strategic guidance to clients on a wide array of Human Resources topics and issues, including policy development and review, auditing the Human Resources functions, leave and absence management, EEO compliance, reductions in force, employee relations, labor relations, performance management, discipline and discharge and various other areas, with an emphasis on instituting best practices and avoiding litigation.

Tracy relieves her clients' day-to-day pain points related to performance management, discipline, terminations, and reductions in force, with an emphasis on compliance, business needs, and prevention of litigation. When clients have serious employee complaints, she assists with investigations—either advising in-house counsel and HR or conducting the investigation herself. She regularly trains managers, leaders, executives, HR departments, and legal teams on the full suite of labor and employment topics.

Ariel Cudkowicz, Partner, Seyfarth

  Employers are facing increasingly complex layers of federal, state, and local employment and wage and hour laws. With a wealth of experience both in and out of courtrooms, Ariel understands the real-life issues that play out in the workplace. He has the wisdom, creativity, and strategic depth to effectively tackle most operational challenges, and provide practical guidance and solutions.

Ariel's practice is focused on wage and hour collective and class actions, complex single-plaintiff employment discrimination litigation, and workplace advice and counseling. He manages a number of national portfolio client relationships, and has particular experience representing clients in the retail and hospitality industries in FLSA collective actions, and in the hospitality industry in class actions challenging the distribution of tips and service charges under state laws.
