CHALLENGE

Our client, a major multinational conglomerate, was planning global reductions in force across 20 operating companies, impacting more than 1,000 employees across 45 countries. Demanding deadlines for execution and works council obligations added further complexity to an already difficult and highly sensitive process.

SOLUTION

Our cross-office team of international employment lawyers in New York, London, and Australia guided our client through numerous workforce challenges they were facing in each of the 20 opcos, taking into consideration critical local differences across the impacted countries. We provided process step plans, termination documents, advice on consultation processes, talking points for employee meetings, input on global communications, and overall strategy advice for execution of global actions.

RESULTS

With our guidance the client was able to seamlessly execute complex processes globally to meet business and timing objectives.
