Marjorie counsels multinational public and private companies regarding compliance with local employment laws, hiring, termination (both individual and large-scale redundancies), worldwide strategic human resources initiatives, global mobility programs, wage and hour issues, statutory employment and benefits requirements, privacy, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, outsourcing, and "doing business" requirements.
Marjorie has extensive experience counseling clients on European Union social law legislation and the application of EU directives and regulations throughout the various EU member states in the areas of business transfer and acquired rights, working time, works councils, part-time and contingent workforce issues, equality legislation, social security, and data protection.
Marjorie received an LLM in French and European community law from the Université Paris 1 (Panthéon-Sorbonne), with honors, in 2004. She received her law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1996, where she was a Dillard Fellow. Marjorie graduated, cum laude, from Dartmouth College in 1991 with a BA in government.
Marjorie is active in the American Bar Association and is a former co-chair of the International Employment Law Committee (section of International Law).
Prior to attending law school, Marjorie worked as a legislative aide for Senator Alan Cranston of California. She is admitted to practice in Washington and New York.
