About the Program

The Government Relations and Policy group at Seyfarth is excited to announce its Government Policy Summit 2022.

We are experiencing a tumultuous period of rapid political change that has had and will continue to have significant impacts in the Labor & Employment space. To best prepare for ongoing changes, we, as businesses and lawyers, have to understand the current landscape, as well as the outlook for the future. As shifting political winds drive L&E evolutions, we will see changes that are both procedural and substantive. And if we can point to one commonality between the Trump and Biden administrations, it is the growing willingness of the Executive Branch to use its executive authority through orders and rulemaking, particularly when the legislative process gridlocks

In addition to senior federal policymakers on each panel, the summit will include a keynote conversation with Seema Nanda, Solicitor of Labor at the U.S. Department of Labor as well as four panels discussing:

  • Potential for Use and Extension of Executive Action in the L&E Space with:
    • Rajesh D. Nayak, Assistant Secretary for Policy, U.S. Department of Labor
    • Emily M. Dickens, Chief of Staff, Head of Government Affairs and Corporate Security, Society for Human Resource Management
    • Harry Litman, Journalist, Professor, Lawyer
    • Scott P. Mallery, Counsel, Seyfarth Shaw - Moderator
  • Labor Relations with:
  • Immigration with:
    • Doug Rand, Senior Advisor to the Director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)
    • Stuart Anderson, Executive Director of the National Foundation for American Policy
    • Chenai Kirkpatrick, Director or Global Policy and Regulatory Affairs, Society for Human Resource Management
    • Leon Rodriguez, Partner, Seyfarth Shaw - Moderator
  • Employment Discrimination with:
