Part 6: Navigating Paid Sick Leave Mandates in New York State in 2022

State and local paid sick leave and other paid time off developments continue to change at exceptional rates. So too does the COVID-19 pandemic. As employers have now been dealing with the realities and impact of COVID-19 for nearly two years, we highlight some of the changes and amendments to the existing state and local COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 Paid Sick Leave Laws in New York.

Members of Seyfarth’s paid leave team are here to help with practical tips for Empire State employers of all sizes and industries on how to navigate the state’s current paid leave landscape. Topics covered during the webinar include:

  • An overview of New York COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 paid leave mandates at the state and local levels;
  • The New York State Paid Sick Leave Final Regulations and corresponding commentary from the NY Department of Labor;
  • Recent amendments to the New York City Earned Safe and Sick Time Act, namely to add a COVID-19 Child Vaccine Paid Leave mandate;
  • Understanding the New York State COVID-19 Emergency Paid Leave law in 2022; and
  • Updated guidance on and an overview of the New York State COVID-19 Vaccine Paid Leave law.
