Ian Morrison was quoted in the Employment Law360 article, "ERISA Litigation On Rise Amid Recession Fallout" published April 16, 2010. The article reported on the increase in federal ERISA filings in early 2010. According to the article, besides a marked increase in stock drop individual and class actions, attorneys have noticed that individual plaintiff benefit actions have been on the rise. This is partly due to workers who have recently lost their jobs and the increasing amount of retirees from the beginning of the baby boom generation bringing suits challenging their former employers over their share of retirement benefits. Ian noted that "[b]enefits issues tend to come to the surface when employees lose work, and they find themselves questioning how much pension they should be receiving.”  Ian further noted, “We've seen a lot of activity in that area continuing into this year, and we expect that to come and go with the volume of work force reduction that will generate potential claims.”
