Jack Toner Quoted in Inside Counsel
"Labor Legislation"

Jack Toner was quoted in the October 2008 issue of Inside Counsel in the article, "Labor Legislation." The article discussed a few of the 30 Democratic-sponsored labor and employment bills awaiting the results of the November election. Jack provided his thoughts on one of the most important of those bills, the Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA) or, as he put it, "The 800-pound gorilla…." He explained that "If passed in its current form, its impact would be dramatic. It would change the basic approach to labor relations, particularly with respect to union organizing."  He also added that because the composition of the Senate is crucial to the fate of EFCA, the legislation has become a major issue in Senate campaigns in states including Maine and Massachusetts.
