Julia Tape, an associate in Seyfarth's Labor & Employment department, has been recognized as the recipient of the Most Promising Newcomer award as part of Texas Lawyer's (Law.com) 2026 Texas Legal Awards. The honor recognizes lawyers who have demonstrated exceptional early-career achievement and are making a meaningful impact on the legal profession.

Tape has established herself as a rising voice in workplace law, contributing thought leadership on significant legal developments affecting employers and workplaces nationwide. Most recently, she co-authored a Law360 article analyzing the workplace implications of the U.S. Supreme Court's decisions in West Virginia v. B.P.J. and Little v. Hecox.

Tape, beyond her legal practice, is deeply committed to community service. For the past four years, she has volunteered as a kitchen crew member with Montrose Grace Place, a Houston nonprofit supporting LGBTQ+ youth experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity. Through monthly shifts preparing and serving meals, she helps foster a welcoming environment centered on connection, dignity, and belonging.

Tape, in a Q&A with Law.com, reflected on the experience, sharing:

"For me, preparing and sharing a meal creates a space where people can gather, connect, and be part of something larger than the moment. In that way, my volunteer work reflects how I was raised and how I carry those values forward."
