Kamili Dawson of Seyfarth Shaw Appointed to The Bar Association of San Francisco (BASF) Foundation’s Board of Directors
San Francisco, CA (February 18, 2009)—Seyfarth Shaw LLP, one of America’s leading full-service law firms, today announced that The Bar Association of San Francisco (BASF) Foundation has appointed San Francisco-based partner Kamili W. Dawson as one of five new members to its board of directors. The BASF Foundation is charged with raising funds for BASF's youth, diversity and charitable programs, including BASF's flagship Volunteer Legal Services Program (VLSP). Dawson is a partner in the Labor and Employment Department of Seyfarth Shaw. Her practice focuses on defending employers and individual employees in single and multi-plaintiff sexual harassment, discrimination, wrongful termination, wage and hour and contract claims brought under federal and state law.

Dawson's appointment to the board of the BASF Foundation is the latest illustration of Seyfarth Shaw's commitment to the organization. Partner Amy K. Skryja is the current Vice President on the Board of Directors for the Barristers Club of the BASF, among other roles within the organization, and associates Allison B. Moser, Laura J. Maechtlen, Andrea K. Anapolsky and Matthew A. Graffigna have also served in various capacities for the BASF. Other attorneys have also been active participants in BASF activities, including partner Christian J. Rowley, who periodically gives employment presentations for BASF's CORP program.
Dawson has tried single and multi-plaintiff cases in the San Francisco Bay Area and Santa Cruz. She also is experienced in drafting employee handbooks and manuals, employment applications and arbitration agreements. Dawson has counseled employers in employer/employee relations, termination disputes, workplace violence and other employment issues. She also conducts Labor Code compliance audits for a wide variety of clients. Currently, she serves on Seyfarth Shaw’s national Diversity Action Team.
