Kristina Launey Quoted in Bloomberg Law on ‘Stay-or-Pay’ Contracts

Bloomberg Law quoted partner Kristina Launey in its article, “States Tackle ‘Stay-or-Pay’ Contracts as Federal Efforts Wane.” Launey offered insight into how California businesses may need to restructure certain kinds of employee repayment agreements in light of new legislation.

“The training ones are the most difficult to address,” Launey said, referring to contracts requiring employees to repay training costs if they leave their jobs prematurely. “I think you will see employers’ payment for those programs go away.”
